As most people have never been in therapeutic hypnosis before, I prefer to use a two-session approach with people who want to quit smoking.

This allows clients on the first Free consultation to experience, at the end of the session, the guided relaxation which is... hypnosis.

From this they can see for themselves that any worries or doubts they may have, are dispelled by that first-hand experience, and this puts them in a much more disposed frame of mind to enter more naturally the second "quit session" a short time (no more than a week) afterwards.

Also on the consultation is a questionnaire which allows the "quit session" to be tailored to them personally, rather than a blanket technique being applied.

In the rare event that a client finds that they have gone back to smoking, a Free back-up session is offered, with no time limit on that offer.

Additionally, the client is given a pamphlet on all the dangers to life from tobacco but which also includes all the benefits to health from stopping. For example, after ten years of having stopped, the lung cancer risks are at almost the same level as a non-smoker.
