What's it all about?
As with previous years, the main focus of the festival is to give some exposure to unsigned bands. A second reason for putting on this event is to expose these local bands to a wider audience, and introduce their music to people who tend not to spend most evenings at gigs. To keep things progressing, the format of the festival is changing to focus on a handful of acts that really do deserve your undivided attention. Some of these folks have been delivering excellent music for several years, and will not disappoint!

This was another successful and well supported evening.
If you couldn't be there, you may like to know that there were 72 people in 12 teams present and for once a pub team didn't win! It It was nice to see several non-church faces there. Our Quiz Master found some especially difficult questions this time - he obviously thought the participants were particularly intelligent!!

Over £400 was raised for FOSJ and two new people joined as members
Flu Clincs in St James' Parish Centre in November 2006

A very big thank you to everyone who has helped at the flu clinics over the last 4 weeks.

I am pleased to say that our efforts were not in vain and that not only did we spread a lot of goodwill amongst the local community, but also that we managed to raise the princely sum of £550! (£200 was on merchandise and £350 was on tea and coffee.)

We also managed to acquire 7 new members and receive a cash donation of £500 - thanks, in particular, to one member of the committee whose selling skills are second to none!

So thank you one and all - a job well done!
