Some Success Stories
Recent successes include a 19 year old from Weybridge
who worked with John for five years and is now a banker
with HSBC and a young man from Chertsey who's parents
were told by an educational psychologist that he would
not get beyond his GCSEs.
But with John's help over four years, he is now
studying at King Alfred's College Winchester. The
student's mother said "Mr O'Keeffe helped my son an
awful lot. He wouldn't be at University if it wasn't for
him". |

What Is Dyslexia & How To Spot It |
| Dyslexia is a neurological disorder in which there is
unexpected failure to read. It is genetic - where brain
cells are arranged differently from a normal reader's. The
extent of the difference in brain cell arrangement
determines the severity. About 90% of cases are
hereditary. How to spot it:
|
◊ |
Mirror writing and letter reversal -
writing 'b' instead of 'd' |
| ◊ |
Poor concentration |
| ◊ |
Confuse left and
right |
| ◊ |
Unable to understand time and tense |
| ◊ |
Learning to talk late |
| ◊ |
Mental block with reading, writing or
spelling |
| ◊ |
Difficulty in copying |
| ◊ |
Speech or hearing difficulties |
| ◊ |
Difficulty in sequencing - listing the
days of the week |
